Satire · Fictional recruitment

Start a cell.

No experience necessary. No evidence required. Just a Tuesday night and a feeling you can’t quite name.

Onboarding

Four steps to local influence

You do not need to understand the agenda. You need to be available to be upset about it.

01

Pick a district

Any district. Yours is ideal, but enthusiasm travels. If you cannot find one, we will assign you a fictional one.

02

Get the agenda

Optional. The alert already contains the conclusion. Reading the document can introduce nuance, which is a known risk.

03

Forward it

Send the alert to a group chat with the word “thoughts?” This is the research phase.

04

Demand answers

Attend the meeting. Ask why the item was on the agenda. Do not ask what the item was. That is a different question.

What you get

  • A dashboard that is always red.
  • A group chat with a name like “Concerned Parents — DO NOT SHARE.”
  • A laminated card explaining that you are a taxpayer.
  • A weekly digest of things that may or may not have happened.
  • A sense of purpose, renewable monthly.

What you don’t get

  • Context.
  • The source document, read in full.
  • A corrections process.
  • Any acknowledgment that the alert might be wrong.
“We are not a mob. We are a network of independently outraged individuals with a shared spreadsheet.”

This form goes nowhere. There is nothing behind it. That is the joke, and also the warning.

Satire notice: Moms for Monitoring is fictional. This page is not a recruitment tool for any real organization. If you want to participate in your local school board, that is legitimate — read the agenda first. Full statement.

Or just read the agenda

It is usually shorter than the alert about it. That is the part the product cannot monetize.
